Siddiqah George – newly appointed OROBOROS O2K Network Manager in South Africa
We would like to congratulate one of our own, Ms. Siddiqah George who has recently been appointed the O2K Network Manager for OROBOROS instruments in South Africa.
Siddiqah is a member of the physiology and metabolism research group here at ESSM and is currently PhD candidate. She is investigating the effects of a high fructose diet on the regulation of key proteins involved in the metabolism, under the supervision of A.Prof. Edward Ojuka. Furthermore, Siddiqah, in her role as the general secretary, and member of the Mitochondrial Physiology Society (MiPSociety), contributed significantly to the success of the most recent MiPSchool hosted here in Cape Town, South Africa.
The MiP Society was founded at the 3rd Mitochondrial Physiology conference in 2003, and have since then hosted a number of well-attended MiP Events. These events aim to provide a multidisciplinary forum for high-level training courses, bring together scientists working in divergent disciplines to discuss mitochondrial function and dysfunction, to resolve differences and develop research agendas, to spread novel knowledge and techniques and to build strong relationships for future collaborations.
Siddiqah's role as O2K network manager involves assisting in the installation of OROBOROS instruments and providing specialised training to all new and existing OROBOROS customers in South Africa.
For more information about becoming a member of the MiPSociety, upcoming MiPEvents and OROBOROS instruments please feel free to contact Siddiqah (Email:firstname.lastname@example.org or Tel.: 021 650 456)
